A Pilgrim’s Progress
Choreographic workshop – 2nd February 2018
The workshop will be held in the iconic Bunyan Meeting Church in Mill Street, Bedford. The interior of the building is enhanced by a number of magnificent stained glass windows which will be used as stimuli for the dance sessions. A large hall attached to the church will be used for the practical sessions, refreshments and lunch. Tutors for the course have varied experience in teaching Laban based work in schools, the community and higher education. They are: Maggie Killingbeck, Dorothy Ledgard and Carol Wallman. Each session will be based on a different aspect of Bunyan’s famous allegory, exploring diverse movement vocabulary, spatial awareness, dynamic range and relationship. All Guild members and friends are invited to take part in this innovative and creative day of dance; course tutors welcome all dancers including and especially those with limited experience.
To register your interest please email Carol Wallman – email@example.com
Quarry Arts is getting a group of people together to create and perform movement and dance inspired by the landscape of the Yorkshire Dales. The group will use Rudolf Laban’s movement principles relating to body, dynamics, space and relationships and will work in exciting locations such as disused quarries, lime kilns, moorland, riverbanks and bridges. If the weather is too challenging the group will use an indoor space in Ingleton. Moving Landscapes starts as soon as possible in May on a Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 pm. No prior dance experience is necessary. We need to have a minimum of 5 participants for this to be viable. Members of the Guild £10 and non-members £15 per session. If you are interested in joining in this novel creative activity please contact Bobbie Millar on 07740 941950 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
